No business is able to tackle the challenges of plastic waste alone. We need the entire industry to work together to transform the current packaging system. At Faerch, we believe that sector-wide initiatives, supported by governments, are key to reducing the impact of plastic packaging on our planet. And we are committed to taking an active role in the plastics debate and to driving the industry towards making food packaging truly circular. As a founding member of the UK Plastics Pact, we support a series of ambitious targets to build a plastics system that keeps plastic in the economy and out of the environment.
The UK Plastics Pact brings key players in the plastics packaging industry together to tackle the issue of plastic waste. More than 160 businesses, government agencies, local authorities, and NGOs are committed to tackling plastic pollution. Together they are taking action to transform the way we make, use, and dispose of plastic packaging in the UK.
Through ambitious targets, the UK Plastics Pact aims to move away from a linear plastics economy towards a circular system where we keep plastic in the economy and out of the natural environment.
The UK Plastics Pact has set four ambitious targets to be met by 2025 by food manufacturers, retailers, hospitality and food service providers, producers, re-processors, and recyclers.
The UK Plastics Pact 2025 Roadmap is intended as a framework to help guide organisations towards achieving the four targets. It outlines key activities that could be taken at all levels of the supply chain. At the same time, it aims to inspire members and supporters to act, and to stimulate wider action on the part of government agencies, funders, investors, NGOs, and businesses who are not members of the UK Plastics Pact.
